How the word frequency counter works
Paste any text and press “Analyze words”. The tool lowercases everything, strips punctuation, and ranks every distinct word by how often it appears — showing the top 25 along with the total and unique word counts. Writers use it to spot overused words; students use it to check keyword coverage.
Counting is case-insensitive (“The” and “the” count together) and raw: common words like “the” are not filtered out, so the list reflects your actual text.

How is a “word” defined?
A run of letters or digits, with internal apostrophes kept — so “don’t” stays one word. Surrounding punctuation is stripped before counting.
Is the count case-sensitive?
“The” and “the” are counted together. Everything is lowercased first so capitalization doesn’t split a word’s total.
Are common words like “the” and “and” removed?
No stop-word filtering is applied. The ranking shows raw frequencies, which is exactly what you want when hunting for overused words.
Does my text get uploaded anywhere?
No. The analysis runs entirely in your browser — nothing is sent or stored.
