How the months between dates calculator works
Unlike a rough “divide days by 30” estimate, this calculator counts real calendar months: January 15 to February 15 is exactly 1 month, even though the gap is 31 days. Any leftover days after the full months are shown separately.

Is a month treated as 30 days?
No. The tool counts genuine calendar months, so January 15 to February 15 is 1 month and March 1 to April 1 is 1 month, whatever their day counts.
What happens with month-end dates like January 31?
Adding one month lands on the last day of the target month — January 31 plus one month is February 28 (or 29 in a leap year).
How are the leftover days counted?
After the full months are counted, the remaining days up to the end date are shown on their own row.
Does the order of the dates matter?
No — the earlier date is used as the starting point automatically.
